It’s been a while, but it’s time for another adventure!
Anyone else seen their world contract due to all things Covid? Whilst international travel was off the cards through various lockdowns, our travels since have been of the lovely but decidedly lacking in adventure variety.
It’s time to change all that!
Andrew and I are starting our next adventure tomorrow (27 August 2023): an overland (ish) passage to India.
Here’s our rough route over the next six-and-a-half-months. We say rough, cos all that’s currently booked is a flight at each end of the trip and four nights’ accommodation.
We’ve sold the car, I’ve finished my work contract, and we’ve both been attempting to get to grips with Duolingo Hindi. Andrew’s getting on better with the latter than me – he can say “a boy and a girl and a book” but we’re not yet at useful phrases like “hello”, “two tickets please” and “thank you”.
My trusty rucksack has been dusted off, and we’re (just about) packed and ready to go! Andrew has been strongly discouraged from packing nine pairs of socks 🙂
We bought this Lonely Planet Hindi, Urdu and Bengali phrasebook to help us get by in India. Help the site by buying through this link at no extra cost to you.
First stop: Montenegro, then over the border via bus to Albania. This will be my second trip to Albania, and if the first is anything to go by we’re in for a treat!
Hi, I'm Julie, a York (UK)-based travel blogger and comfort-zone pusher. Join me as I bring you pics and musings from my mildly adventurous travels around the globe. My mission is to hear you say, "I"m so glad I did it!" instead of, "I wish I could, BUT ..."
